Covington - Claude Addison Denton, 68, a Fountain County farmer 25 years, died Thursday morning in the Freeman-Greene County Hospital at Linton, where he had been a patient since Aug 26. He had been in failing health two years and seriously ill one week. Born Aug 2, 1892 in Floyd County. Mr. Denton was the son of Oscar and Hattie Akins Denton. He was a member of the Methodist Church and had made his home in Worthington, Ind. the past 17 years. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nina Ramey, Rt 2, Veedersburg and Mrs. Dorothy Newnum of New Richmond; two brothers, John and Herman Denton, both of Kewanne, Ind; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hegg Funeral Home at Covington, with burial at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Rev. Harold Clark of the New Richmond Methodist Church will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon Friday.
